Abstract: Many operators today are put off by the scale and expense of multiphase meter deployments (as well as expensive well testing contracts and test lines) and have concerns on whether such metering solutions can adapt to changing field and process conditions. Changing conditions might include high and fluctuating H2S concentrations or more liquid and water in the well stream.

The result is that – at a time when accurately measuring the flow rates of oil, gas and water and securing optimal production has never been more important – too many operators are making compromises and choosing what wells to deploy multiphase meters on to meet CAPEX requirements.

It’s in response to these challenges that Emerson has developed the Roxar MPFM 2600 M multiphase flow meter.
